Vue Entertainment’s newest Multiplex cinema in Blackburn, Lancashire, is the company’s first to pilot the Connectvision digital hub to drive additional business and increase concession sales in the foyer area. The pilot’s success will pave the way for Vue to roll-out Connectvision digital hub across its other 50 Multiplexes nationwide.

Developed by Saturn Communication Group, Cinemavision is widely used by Vue to provide core information display services such as film information and synopses, seats availability and film times for customers and staff.

At its newly built 1,600 fully stadium seated state-of-the-art multiplex in Blackburn, Vue is, for the first time, using Connectvision’s digital hub features to customise and schedule the concessions advertising on ten LED and two plasma screens.

“Connectvision digital hub is incredibly flexible. We want to see how we can increase sales by controlling the foyer screens content and scheduling individual offers down to an individual screen when necessary. Over the next 6 months we’re going to explore the 1,001 different options we get with Connectvision, assessing impact on sales and staff resource,” commented the sales and marketing director, Vue Entertainment.

“Vue Entertainment is one of the UK’s leading multiplex developers. We look forward to working with them to fully realise the business potential offered by Connectvision. Indeed, with digital technology set to take an increasing role within the Multiplex, we are delighted that Vue Entertainment is taking the lead in realising the sales and productivity benefits available with Connectvision,” said Chris Welsh, managing director, Saturn Communications Group Ltd.
